Founded in 1919, Junior Achievement is the world’s largest and fastest growing not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and free enterprise. In 2012, over 10.5 million young people participated in JA programs in 121 countries across the globe.Junior Achievement Zimbabwe is a private sector initiative and became a Member of Junior Achievement Worldwide (initially International) in October 1998. JA Zimbabwe is registered in Zimbabwe as a not-for profit trust organization. Over 100,000 young people, both in-school and out-of-school, rural and urban took part in JA programs in Zimbabwe since 1999. In 2012, over 25,000 young people participated in JA Zimbabwe programs across the country.

"When I began the process of applying for DCA funding through Steward Bank I almost quit due to the loan beneficiary criteria which is not friendly to young entrepreneurs like myself, however with perseverance, resilience and support received from Junior Achievement Zimbabwe (JAZ) in partnership with Zimbabwe: Works, I managed to access a loan of $8,400 that will see my business expand", said Titus Mboko, a young man aged 33 who benefitted from the Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion trainings done by JAZ in Bulawayo.
