Harare – 23 August: JA Zimbabwe has announced the appointment of Munyaradzi Allen Chinhanhu as the new Executive Director. Allen commenced his new role on 23 August 2021. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in operations management, business development, program management, strategic planning, business management training and mentorship, and active team leadership.
Allen says “I am excited to join the JA family and privileged to be given an opportunity to make a lasting impact on youth in Zimbabwe.”
JA Zimbabwe Board Chair, David Birch said: “I am pleased to welcome Allen as our new ED. Allen has a very relevant background to the challenges of economically empowering Zimbabwe’s youth and understands very well the need for sustainable partnerships to enable us to deliver on our promise of bridging the gap between classroom education and the world of work. His previous experience in this field will enable Allen to relate well to all of our stakeholders and the Board is confident that we are in safe hands”.
His appointment is timely and heralds a new era of growth and accelerated development for JA in Zimbabwe. He comes well prepared for the tasks ahead and is poised to scale up and surpass the laudable accomplishments of the Phil and the JA Zimbabwe team. As the lingering aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic begins to redefine the landscape and opportunity space for jobs and work across Zimbabwe and globally, Allen’s leadership, energy, vision and ‘partnership credentials’ will be pivotal to JA Zimbabwe’s mandate of delivering JA’s work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship offerings to Zimbabwe’s fast-growing youth population.”
His predecessor, Phil Mlambo who is now Chief Operating Officer at JA Africa said; “I could not have asked for a better Successor than Allen whose presence I felt on the very first day I met him. His fundraising experience and knowledge of the landscape will spur JA Zimbabwe on. I wish him all the best and assure him of my support and I know that the Chairman, the Board and the team at JA Zimbabwe will support him”.
